| What are the up to?Right, extremely angry! I´ve been working in that company, a large engineering consulting firm, for ten years and there doesn´t seem to be any way of advancing.I´ve had the same job now for five years, sitting at the same desk in the same room and doing the same job. I have good old Ms. Jabobs sitting right in front of me, and she arrived three months and it is rumored that she is already on her way down the hall to join the Miles group. Well, just yesterday I heard the Johnson, that idiot, in the office next door is getting a promotion to Senior Clerk. Well, that hit the fan! How long am I supposed to put up with this! Any advice? |
| "Ask if you are worthy"
Have you ever asked yourself or your friends if you are worthy of being promoted? Are you confident with your performance within the past five years that it warrants you being promoted? If the answer to those two important questions is a big YES, then I think you should make a stand and approach your superior for a promotion. You have two options if your efforts are all put to waste, you can still work for them since looking for a new and a more stable job is hard to do these days; or risk it by resigning and looking for other better paying opportunities. |
