Do Not Believe Everything You See, Read, or Hear

Thank author of this post/commentWe are all grown ups now and thus it is expected of us to act accordingly to our age. We once had a lot of question as a child everytime we see something new and weird on television like "Mom, is that true?" or "Pops, is that really happening?". I remember my parents telling me never believe everything you see, hear or read. Sometimes they are just make believe for our entertainment, well except for news but even in news there are rumor reports. This only proves that we shouldn't be so impulsive on seeing various status post, articles and write ups and thinking that it refers to us. It only be doing us harm than good.

Thank author of this post/comment"Not All Are True, Choose What To Believe "

Impulsive it may seem but once I felt like I am the one being thrown words with then surely I am to react. But that was long before I finally understand how silly I am being affected with seemingly nonsense of a post or write ups. Why be affected when you can choose to be silent and reserve your emotions to something else.

That is true, we should not believe everything that we hear or read, because not all are true.

Thank author of this post/comment"Seeing is believing"

Before we act, shouldn't we first try to put common sense to things? If we hear from someone that our partners are cheating on us, should we easily believe that? If I tell you that I am a ninety year old woman making this post on a tablet computer, would you immediately accept this as a general truth? The answer to all of that is a big NO.

Before we jump to conclusions we should first investigate. Seeing is believing. This makes us skeptics but it is better than making a complete fool of ourselves for being so gullible.

I have to agree, we surely have to choose which ones to believe and not. There are times when we got easily moved by our emotions that even though we are still in doubt, we tend to get angry by the situation. But let yourself composed and weigh things up. Who knows about the real story and so why consume yourself with so much thoughts? Just try to relax and act accordingly.

We outgrew things for a reason. We grow old and mature up. I we still do what we keep on doing back when we are still innocent children, then what did we grow up to be? Immature people?

So before we respond o things we see or hear, let's first be sure to get the complete story. Don't listen to hearsays. Don't jump to conclusions as it may potentially be a ruin of a relationship and may very well be the source of your stress.

Thank author of this post/comment"How hard it is to choose what to believe at? "

We have to be responsible in what we say, as to we have to be aware of what to believe and what to not. These two always come together.

For me there will always be those misunderstandings no matter what the cause might be. But what is important is that we try to weigh things up and be open with reasons as well.

We can never expect people to believe, understand and even view our thoughts positively, but at least we can be civil enough to talk nicely and be intelligent in picking up what to believe.

Thank author of this post/comment"The Problem Is Us All The While"

It is funny how we acted so childish at times. But for me, people do not have problem knowing what to believe at. But instead they do have a problem controlling their minds, believing to EVERYTHING they read or see. Reacting to seemingly everything as if they are the ones being the subject of something, surely, the problem is with us people. For being too over reacting at stuffs and all!

People can get carried away with things that isn't intended for them, they are responsible for this but the blame can also be thrown at people who keep on making open letters and messages. This is more likely to happen on social networks. I for one am guilty of both.

Social networks have paved the way for new social stress. The anonymity and the speed of posting any messages with a stroke of a keyboard can be a double edge sword. It ca hurt people and hurt you in the process. This is why I have decided to just avoid any controversial posts, rather than blocking the people from seeing or interacting with me. Oh, it is sometimes really tempting to just do it. To hide my wall, "unfriend" or block people whom I deemed irritating, make it private to people who can just simply laugh it all, but at the end of the day, these people are my friends or a special person to a friend, and I don't want that to be the source of losing that precious friendship. I have burned bridges in the past and that last bridges is the last thing that I wouldn't want burned. In order to preserve what respect I still have for them or that friend, I would rather not do the cruel things I can just simply do.

Thank author of this post/comment"Bottom Line"

I have seen and probably been involved into one in social networking sites like Facebook. The bottom line here is to never assume that the latest status update of that person whom you are in not good terms with is about you. Or if it is about you, then don't let it get into you. Some people can really be sore losers and letting them get to you makes you far worse than them. In the end, it might be you who'll be stressed the most.

Observe diligently. Never believe everything you see. Even the most convincing of truths can just be another elaborate lie.
