Annoyed With Loud Phones I am always annoyed at inconsiderate people. Why can't they learn their manners and make everybody around them happy. I was in a theater watching Prince of Persia the other day with my kids and is on the middle part of the film when suddenly Michael Jackson sung in the background. "Smooth Criminal" was the song and no, it is not from the movie, it is from the cell phone of the man in front of us. What I do not understand is his reason for not immediately answering the call. It's like he wanted others to hear his ring tone clearly before he picks it up. We were at the part where Jake Gyllenhaal killed himself with that magical dagger. Somehow I can tell it's nearing the climax of the movie and so I was really paying attention on every action and every words, that's how committed I am when watching movies. So you can just imagine how irritating it was hearing such ring tone in max volume. The sound filled the whole theater and everyone, including me, looked at him, missing the next few scenes of the film. Next scene I saw, the protagonist was alive again and I didn't even know how it happened. I know for sure it's because of that magical dagger, but I didn't really saw how it was able to reverse time because of that noisy disturbance. I was defocused! Even the person sitting next to that ill-mannered person just shrug-off his dismay and moved on the other side. The man eventually answered his phone and their conversation took about 5 minutes. Five minutes of irritation is hell too long for a movie that is only less than two hours. I was about to forgive him for everything thinking we can just watch the film again on the next screening when I realized the cinema only offered us one-time-viewing tickets. Sheez! |
