My parents annoy me! Help!?

Thank author of this post/commentOk so I'll fill you in, I'm 17 I recently sat my SQA Highers I got 4 C's and a B. I know that had I studied harder I could have got better results ( I spent too much time playing PS3 but I don't regret it.) however my mum won't get off my back. To start with she keeps comparing me to my sister who got 2 A's and 5 B's. She expects me to get straight A's this time and no matter how much I tell her I will try my best she say's and I quote "No you won't do your best you'll just get them!" as if it's a simple task, this just infuriates me cause it's such a stupid statement it's not like I can just wave a fu**in wand and get them. My mum and Dad only sat O-levels before leaving school which is like Standard Grade yet they think that Highers are easy, and just because I did well at Standard Grades I automatically should get A's at higher. Secondly my mum in particular is nagging me to get a weekend job and on top of that help around the house more than I do already. To finish off, every future career I can think of isn't a real job according to my dad some examples are Concept Art or The Game's Industry, I asked them "Why shouldn't I have a job I can enjoy" they reply "Cause you're not here to enjoy it." So I reply "then whats the point in living?" and they just ignore me, ya know. It's like everything I do isn't good enough for them and that expect straight A's constantly, I realize they want the best for me but it's I want to live life how I want not how Society demands we only have one shot at life so why not enjoy it?

You cannot blame your mom with that. Remember, our mom knows what are best for us, I learned that the hard way. I think it would be much better if you try to do your best to make your parents proud over you. It is not that easy but well with hard work, I am sure that you are to get to that spot in the family where all of the nagging and shouting would all be gone.
