Yahoo! Answers: how can i get my dad to go to work? - Infuriated
| Yahoo! Answers: how can i get my dad to go to work? my dad retired a little while ago although i'm now in college and we need money. our house isn't very big at all but my mom never asks him for much so he's never given us much. she's sick of it. she says other women are given nice jewelery/scent etc and she's given nothing. when she does say we would be better in a bigger house, he agrees but then pushes it aside. he's never done much to improve our lives. my mom says she is going to leave when i'm through with college. she's fed up with him and to be honest, i am too. he does nothing - just doss around the house all day. when we say he should go to work, he agrees and pushes it aside or shouts and says "stop telling me how to live my life". we are not so tight with money that it is absolutely crucial he goes to work but its not fair still. he has retired so early that my mom probably wont be able to have a comfortable life in older age without working hard in the future. it's really getting me down. also because our house is small and he's always there, it distracts me with work and stuff. he's always walking around and being noisy. he promised to not be there when i was revising for exams but he was. he's never going to get another job, i know. he's so lazy. i don't know what to do. so i've started not talking to him. i said i'll start talking when he gets a job. he's splitting our family up. do you think not talking is too childish? its just there's no way to get through to him. he's like the most infuriating person ever. you could say anything to him and he wouldn't care. he's so annoying. i can't move out yet cos not enough money but i hope to soon with my mom. is there anything i can do to make him work? hes got enough to buy food and stuff so locking up food probably wont work. |
