CUSTOMS IN BELIZE AIRPORT - Irritated
CUSTOMS IN BELIZE AIRPORTMy 75 year old mom is wheel chair bound she recently visited Belize and was harrassed by a femal custom officer. She does not work and the few things she took back are things that were given to her by her kids. She took a fer gifts for her great grands. The female custom officer treater her as though she was a criminal. She told the person that pusher the wheel chair that he should not bring anyone in customs in a wheel chair let them walk. The few things my mom took back was for her own personal use. The female officer accused her of taking back things to sell. This is what discourages me from going to Belize. I have a very good job my mom do not have to sell anything to make a living. Customs are treating people like animals, they need to get some customer service training. I spoke to many people and they fear going to belize, as if you take your own clothes to wear they charge you because the said that you are taking it to sell. I for one only go to Belize for vacation and so does my mom. I don't know who to complain to. Does any one know who to go to?
Aren't Customs Services supposed to be intimating, annoying and arrogant? What other tools do they have to stop smugglers?
It is not supposed to be as it is, it it as the way it remains, purely for specific reasons.
