| Get these street children out of my face Call me cruel or call me bad, but I just don't want to see these street children in my face. I recently got out of this store to bring home food for my family when all of a sudden this dirty eight to nine year old boy ask for change. I told him I don't have any and he kept on tailing me. Why didn't I gave them, because I have seen them there. They are there everyday asking for people's change. There is also one time I saw one smoke. I used to give them money but it seems like they have been too dependent on our pity on them that they haven't moved from their miserable statuses. I am too tired of giving them fish, its time for them to know how to fish. Chances are that these kids are working for some evil organization or syndicate. |
| "Helping Them Out in Some Other Way "
Good thing that you do not gave them any money. You were right, who knows if they were under some sort of illegal organization. Or what if they are asking for money just to sustain their bad habits like smoking and worst, drugs. If we want to help them, let us start by making them realize that life on the streets would never be an option. Maybe then they will move out of the streets asking for money. |
| "Irresponsible!"
Although I share the same sentiments sometimes, there can be rare occasions that I actually feel pity for them. Pity that they have sink to that low level to give up decency and honor to ask for people for their food or money. All can be blamed to these children's parents as sometimes, they themselves are being used to ask for money on the streets. Rather than looking for a work, they rather use their kids to ask for money. What an irresponsible person! |
| "We Have To Help Them"
It is sad to be living in a world full of irresponsible parents getting their kids work at the streets, begging for some money. And for me, as a responsible citizen, we have to do something about this issues with regards to street kids. There are these institutions that we can contact to go to those areas where street kids are begging for some amount of money. It would never hurt if we do this. |
| "Momentarily Relief Would Never Help Them "
It breaks my heart to see these kids who seemed to be having hard time trying to find money for themselves, and for their respective families as well. But there are times that I feel like giving them money would be momentarily relief only. I want a much better solution for them. To provide help for them that they can live at for a much longer time. That is what I do hope for them. |
| "A good community"
How unfortunate of you as you regularly see such scenarios on a daily basis. I for one belong in a decent community and I haven't seen any situations like this, but as a father to two lovely girls, I can't help but to wonder what has been running into these "street" children's parents that they resolve to actually making their children work for them? Should we judge them already because of what they did or should we try to understand them? |
