My dad depresses me... what can i do to not feel this way.?

My dad depresses me... what can i do to not feel this way.? My dad is a pretty unsatisfied person although he pretends to be optimistic. I have come to this conclusion as he is frequently angry and basically sits on the couch for hours at a time. It makes me sick to my stomach sometimes seeing how pathetic he looks but i've gotten past that now. I pretend it doesn't bother me. I feel really annoyed when he constantly tells me to do things as if I'm 5. I'm actually a 20 year old girl that's in her 3rd year of medical school. Please, i'm sick of fighting with him. He yells at me when he's angry and his face looks disgusting when he's mad (which happens on an hourly basis). Sometimes i fell he's detremental to my health. Even worse, he turns our family members against eachother. Some times a feel amongst enemies rather than family. Open Question: My dad depresses me... what can i do to not f...
