Never judge a book by its cover

Thank author of this post/commentA friend recently told me about her experience in a shopping mall. she was definitely discriminated and look down on by the store staff. They thought that she can't afford those expensive clothes offered by the store. She told me that the store staff stare down at her as if she is there to shop lift. She told me that she wore simple clothes, but little do these jerks for a saleslady know that she is more than capable of buying those high fashion clothes. Never judge someone by her looks alone, she might even be a better person than you are.

Thank author of this post/comment"Store Personnel Following Me "

I also had the same experience with some store personnel. I am shopping for with my little girl and my husband when suddenly a store personnel follows me everywhere I go, looking at the shopping cart I am pushing. It is sad, and frustrating at the same time. I do not know what it is with those people but they sure brought up insecurities inside me.

I do not know what to feel that moment and I decided to just leave the store.

This is a very hard thing to do especially if you are an educated person. There is this association that people who usually look good don't have any ulterior or bad motives when in reality everyone is a suspect. I for one is guilty of which, I sometimes look at this person whom I am with on a bus as he looks so suspicious but in reality he is probably just a hardworking father that can't wait to go home to his family.

Look at how our minds can deceive us. We are of control of whatever thoughts coming in to our brains. Though at times we try to deny this fact, we can never expect the verdict of being too malicious and too judgmental at times.

But well, we are just humans. We can never be that ideal kind of a person to think of good of a person at all times. Of course there will always be times when we might feel a little uneasy and un - trusty over some people we barely know and does not know at all.

We do what we do because it is what we are raised to do. Just like computers when given a particular scenario, we unknowingly execute something to address this issue. Sometimes it brings the worst of us.

Indeed if you see someone looking suspicious or just generally a shady character your defenses would probably go up and be cautious in approaching this person, when in reality this might just be a passerby who is as worried about you for being alone in the street and might think of you as the same. I am not saying to completely trust people as there are indeed scums of society out there, but let us try to reconsider our initial review on a person based on their appearance.

Thank author of this post/comment"Upbringings and Yourself "

We surely have different upbringings, as what some would imply here. But no matter how we are brought up to, the real us will soon surface once we reached age, we are not computers anyway.

And once we find our ways outside our homes, mingle with the people around us, we can never say that we cannot develop another personality, in direct contradiction to how we were raised.

What we can hang on to would definitely be our own minds, judgments and conscience.
