| Being professional and decent Thanks to past experiences I have already realized a couple of stuff related to work. That work is work and I shouldn't be bothered by what other people on the office say about me. They are an inferior bunch of people whose past time is talking about other people's lives, judging them and mocking them. I will not stoop down on their level of insecurities to even socialize with them. I am now more professional and to whatever trash they might throw at me, I'll just consider it as a failed attempt of pulling me down. Coz they won't and can't bring me down. I am far better than them. |
| "Stooping Down To Their Level, Never!!! "
Good thing that you have that very positive attitude with life Adon. Never let your co worker let you down. No matter how hard they try to pull you down, never stoop down to their level. As what you had said, you are far better than them. And besides, you can never gain anything if you keep your mind on what they are talking behind your back. Just be who you are, a far more better person. |
| "At least be civil"
That is a bit harsh of a statement, but that is your opinion Adon. What I suggest you to do is at least be civil with them. It makes the working environment a whole lot lighter. What if you need something from them or have to work with them in order to finish a specific project, then the conflict would probably arise. How can you be certain that they have all those negative attitudes when you obviously haven't taken the time to actually know everything there is to know about them. Try to be civil and be friendly. |
| "Talking Things Out With Your Officemates "
No one is above another. We have our individuality, own talents and personalities. And we should never look down to anybody for whatever reasons. I have to agree with Chris A. here, at least try to be civil and friendly approaching and talking to them. What is the use of feeling that way when you can set all those differences aside and be able to work harmoniously in the office. |
| "Part of professionalism"
Being professional does not only suggest you do your work properly but to also establish a good working environment with the people you work with. Having that superiority complex and alienating yourself from the crowd isn't recommended. Hope you don't appear as this douche bag and jerk in the office who think so mighty of himself. Try to be grounded for you'll never know when you'll be needing their help, maybe not in the office but with real life emergencies and situations.Do onto others what you want others done onto you. |
| "Having A Much Better Working Environment "
That is very true. Who want to be alone and be away with people? Especially our co workers who we see all week long. We are to work with these people so it is much better if we do set a good relationship with them. It would be hard for us to work if someone in the office have ill feelings towards us, right?Hope things are fine now at your office. |
