| Too Much for Cost Cutting I am annoyed whenever tabloids and broadsheets are flooded with non sense news. I am particularly annoyed with Manila Bulletin for their efforts to cut cost by hiring writers to write on numerous categories instead of hiring individual writers with high credibility for the field. Take for example Nestor Cuartero and Henrylito Tacio. Cuartero writes for Manila Bulletin's Entertainment section, and also has a section at the bulletin's Sunday Panorama, which mainly talks about health. Henrylito Tacio on the other hand write for the Travel and Style section of Manila Bulletin. Aside from that, he also maintains a section at the Business Classifieds and Panorama. I mean, they may be qualified to write for those topics, but in the process, they lose their credibility. An entertainment columnist becomes your health adviser? A lifestyle writer who also writes commentaries about the country's internal business affairs? The company should at least give them assignments on relevant topics, and not contradicting ones. |
