Thank author of this post/commentOK, I admit my family is poor on money about things like exterminators. So we don't have the money to pay for them. And, our termite infestation isn't too serious. But we have a fair amount of flying termites in our house, and they're very gross and annoying. There are dead termites in my bath tub (they probably drowned themselves trying to get a drink, the stupid things =/) and their wings are EVERYWHERE like I can't even turn the fan on without their disgusting shedded wings flying everywhere. And live ones keep buzzing around near my lights and every time I get the fly swatter out their wings fly everywhere. I hate termites and I hate their wings I hate most bugs and I think they're absolutely disgusting. Are there any solutions as to get rid of them without an exterminator? I'm desperate and I'm really ticked off about them.

I have not tried these myself. Take them with a grain of salt.

1- Good quality wasp spray is supposed to work on the flying ones.

2- A good friend who is a farmer and has seldom been wrong about stuff like this says "Don't buy commercial sprays. They're too expensive. Buy a large bottle of Listerine Mouth Wash (The original - not the new flavoured ones). Fill a 'spray bottle' and soak down where they are really good."

I can see this maybe working if you open up the walls and get in to where they live (by the zillions) but short of that.........?! (PS - I know this works with wasps and mosquitoes, though)

A real estate agent I know says, "If you own the house - sell it! (before the termites eat it all), and if you rent - move! (Keep in mind that when you move, you MUST dry-clean every bit of clothing you can't boil and, yep, boil the rest.
