| What is so wrong about being fat? I am just angry at how some people on my network judge people based on what their eyes can superficially see. There is these group of high school friends who who always rub the idea of our female classmate being black (having a darker skin) which translates to her being ugly. I don't know what they say behind my back as I myself am fat, not just a plus size but fat. I just want to keep it real here, but i am trying to lose some weight. Knowing them, I think they are also talking behind my back about me. This mere thought and possibility angers me even further! |
| "Got Insecurities As Well "
It is sad to know that there are these people who would think bad about us. I myself have so many imperfections and I felt like some people are getting me wrong. Physically speaking, I must say that every bit of me is just out of proportion. Most of the time I got really insecure at some girls out there. But well, I try to keep my sails up and try my best to uplift my spirit. At least I have myself to boost my confidence. |
| "Health"
What is wrong with being fat? the burden on our health care system is what is wrong! We all have to pay for your sickness. |
| "Don't let other people put you down"
Don't be bothered by things you don't know and speculate stuff. If they are really your friends then they won't make a laughing stock out of of you. Don't be troubled by their shallow antics. If they have problems with dark, thin, ugly, or fat people then that is their problem. You already said that you are working to lose some weight and that is already enough. don't change because of them, change for yourself. |
| "Avoiding awkward moments"
This is why as much as possible I want to avoid or negate such inappropriate jokes that could very well insult a friend. I would make it to a point to divert a conversation leading towards a friend's weakness or appearance. I have some of these friends when having this major meet up would make it to a point to bring out rude remarks about their skin color or size and why they are like this. I know its only a joke, but believe me when I say that jokes can usually be misinterpreted no matter how harmless it may seems. |
| "Picking Up The Good Joke "
That is true Chris, there will always be those jokes that no matter how harmless they may seem, people tend to get offended. Especially when those jokes somehow reflects the way one person look. And why would people even try to put up jokes concerning how a certain person looks? That is just so rude. And so, it is important that we do think if one would get really offended by a joke or not. |
