| How to get a clingy coworker OFF your back!!!? I work in an office and I have been really sick lately at work and a coworker offered to help me. I appreciated it at first but now she won't leave me alone and let me work in peace and thinks I'm her best friend. And thinks she owns me now becuase she helped me so much. The other day I left to go get some lunch without telling her and when I came back, she said "I was looking for you, Where did you go?!" with an annoyed look on her face, like I'm a child! I just stood there there like in shock. She constantly follows me gossiping about everybody when I don't want to hear it! Arrgh. I feel guilty becuase she has helped me so much and i would feel guilty for being mean to her, but This is too much! What do i do so I can work in peace. I have told her I feel better but she still constantly hangs around! I need peace and wan't to be by myself, and she is so sensitive |
| In my opinion, the best thing to do is to just tell her that she is becoming too clingy and all the other concerns you have related to her in the nicest way you can. Probably, there is a reason why she wants to stick around with you. Maybe she doesn't have any friends and she feels she has found a friend in you. It might help if you could set times when she could hang around (not all the time of course) with you so that you can do your work efficiently and she won't feel rejected. |
| "Be Distant To These kind Of People "
That is a great advice there Chin Chin. But there are some things easier said than done my friend. You have to consider that in real life you cannot just do that. Talking to her about your concern and how you felt towards her would surely upsets her. That is the reason why I do not let people get in my system like that. I always keep my distance to them. |
| This is the usual scene in an office, but sometimes it's so irritating to see this people coming to work place and do nonsense things. The best way to do is submit yourself to your daily niche and neglect people doing nasty things that surround you. Be professional enough to accept criticisms and deal with it fairly. Choose a coworkers that can help you grow professionally. Have a great day! |
| "Time To Figure Things Out "
It was never easy to be dealing with co workers like that. I felt bad about people who would do nasty things even at work. No matter how hard I try to get myself out of the mess, I always ended up getting involved in controversies in and outside work. I just hope I can be able to manage things right, especially at my workplace. I really need some sort of time for myself. |
| Perhaps you are pleasing very much the reason why she wants to be with you all the time. Just explain to her that she is becoming to clingy and you didn't think its okay. But of course, try to say it in a nice way and not to hurt her feelings. Just keep the good relationship for a harmonious working environment. Anyway, we are just humans and we are not perfect. |
