A fine line between friendship and employee - Your Employees
| A fine line between friendship and employeeIf you have your own business and have friends as employees then you probably have the same problem as I have. Well, that is if you are unlucky enough.I have nothing against friends working for you but when your friend acts so lazy and bossy about his work. I don't think it would end up ruining both your business and your friendship. This is my problem right now. Hope someone can give me an advice to protect both this important aspects of my life. |
| "Friendship as Employees "
That is the reason why you have to choose your employee. It is not always a good idea to bring some friends over your business and hire them instantly. Most of the time they would take the advantage of being your friend and be lazy about their work. You should talk about the issue with your friend. It is not easy to be in the situation but you have to work things out both for your business and the friendship. |
| "Be professional"
Being friends and working for each other is two separate things. One must learn how to separate one from another. Be professional. I have gained help from friends when I am too preoccupied with multiple projects. I know I can be quite bossy sometimes and might have put them in the right place once or twice, I just hope that they didn't take it the wrong way. This is also the problem with having friends as employees. |
| "Acquiring Help From Friends "
Our friends tend to be so comfortable with us that most of the time they are getting too insensitive with some stuffs. There is nothing wrong with hiring a friend for you are helping them. But what concerns me most of the time was when they tend to go out of the line and act lazy and comfortable with their work and all. Not knowing that they are being paid to work and not to goof around. |
