unemployment benefits if i quit?

Thank author of this post/commenta few weeks ago my work gave me a dollar raise, said i was great and the best employee. Then 2 weeks later my boss calls me in and is annoyed that i had a bad day. Because he has no reason to fire me he tells me " you can quit or we are cutting your hours to 2 shifts per week"...UM!??? so now my hours are almost non existent and the times i do see my boss its tense. I am already in the process of looking for another job, and am in California btw. Help!
