Kids think parents owe them something

The whole parenting business is a whole wide field that requires enough commitment and a really flexible way of doing things. It is so common nowadays to spot a few homesteads where the parents and their kids have serious brawls/ It could be in the way they treat each other or that the spirit of dialogue has never been cultivated.

Both sides of the divide are to blame but have kids the right to think that their parents owe them something?

I think the key for a good relationship with one's kid is to talk to them often in a loving yet authoritative kind of way. Parents should show their firmness and should still show their authority over their kids but not to moderation for you don't want to scare away your child from being open to you. Explain things in a completely understandable manner. I later understood what my parents all did for me which convince me that I will do the same for my kids.
