I kind of wish it had not been in such fast motion, I would have liked to see the full process in normal speed if not slow motion. For anyone who is thinking of buying 'My Own Morph' be warned the stuff he uses in this video IS NOT plastecine like you get in the set. In fact if you ask any stop motion animator they will tell you plastecine is not suitable at all for making moveable sturdy characters and is mainly only used for scenary etc if at all. The kit is ok other then that.. however not worth the money, the accesories are the only reason to buy it, it comes with a magic hat, beard and skateboard. The plastecine is pretty useless as I have stated above. Plastecine is quite a bit too soft for making moveable characters and although I managed to make something resembeling morph with it, it was very hard to do. You should use a proper modelling clay like newplast for making models. Newplast is alot more sterdy and moldeable, Aardman themselves use their own recipe clay from what i hear, they deffinatly do not use plasticine. I have used some Newplast since buying the kit and am very annoyed i spent so long trying to use the supplied stuff, is is so much easier with newplast! Your best bet for good value is go buy a block of Terracotta newplast for £1.50 from from your nearest art store or online here : craftwiseonline.co.uk |
