| Taking the initiativeNo thanks to the recession, my relationship with my husband is put to the test right now. He is one of the latest individuals who currently join the ever growing population of laid off individuals. He lost his job due to company downsizing and now we are having a tough time providing for our two kids (Michael - 7 and Danisse - 8). I want to understand his situation but he is not helping by not showing the initiative to actually look for a job and it pains me to see him in that light. |
| "Challenge Your Husband "
Challenging your husband is good. Try to weigh things out and make sure that you are not hurting his ego as well. You can ask him if he would allow you to work. It is not easy to earn money and with so much things that we need to survive, most couples are working hand in hand to earn much more. I am sure that things would turn our right for you and your husband. |
| "Force him out of it"
I agree with Dustin here. As a woman, I do not tolerate laziness. If ever my partner becomes so lazy that it will put our relationship in jeopardy then I have no choice but to take the initiative as well. I would first tell him my plan, if that won't still be enough to challenge his ego then I proceed with working. Luckily my man is nothing like that. Lucky for me. |
| "I Want To Work Too "
All of you guys have a good point in here. You see, there will always come a time when we will have some misunderstandings with our spouses, especially when it comes to work. One time I tried to convince my husband to let me work. But things aren't what it seems to be when you are married. I have nothing against my husband because he is indeed a good provided. But the thing is, I would like to also explore and practice my profession. |
